Hi. I've been playing quite a few games with the following rig:

Mobo: Asus P5Q Pro
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD4850 512MB DDR 2
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz
Memory: OCZ ReaperX HPC 2 x 2048 MB DDR2 / Bus 1066 MHz / PC2-8500 / CL 5-5-5-18
Case: Antec Sonata III 500
Power Supply: 500W
Screen: Samsung SyncMaster T220 22" LCD / 1680x1050

The problem is that in a couple of games, for exemple Trackmania Nations and Call of Duty World at War, as soon as there is a lot of vegetation (trees, grass, ...) the game slows right down and becomes unplayable. In CoD WaW, the FPS, which are on average at about 50, go down to about 15.

I'm guessing that the Graphics Card is responsible for this problem although I'm not sure... :??:  Is this a known problem ? And is it common among ATI cards ?

First thought was mold?
Kidding aside there are two options either you have reached the limitation of the card (to high a detail) or your PSU (not enough power under full GPU load).

The PS shouldn't be the issue, the card requires a 450.

One of my older psu´s is rated 680watt but still only has 18amps on a single +12volt rail. It was crapping out with a vanilla 6800 in its time.
