Doing a new build. Started over at new build section of the forums here on tom's hardware. Taking things over here, specifically looking for advice on motherboard and ram choices. Computer will be used for everything, but with a focus on gaming and entertainment. Ideally, I would like to keep the price range for the mobo between 200 and 300; and then 200ish for the ram kit, give or take a little. However, if there is any worthwhile or significant reason to spend a little extra on the price point, suggestions are not just welcome, but prefered. The chosen CPU will be a Core i7 930, PSU most likely a Corsair modular. Have not decided between nvidia or ati yet, or a specific card/card combo for that matter. Will sit in a Cosmos S. Any suggestions on a complementary cpu cooler/heatsink that works well with the said mobo would also be much appreciated. Again, doing a new build and have a thread over in the new system section, but though I'd make a post here too since the mobo choice is probably the most important.

Thank you.

I also recommend you to go for the ASUS P6X58D-E.
You have an interesting article from this website about this matter: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/x58-usb-3.0-sata-6-...

About the memory, I would go for the following options:

3x2Gb CORSAIR DOMINATOR DDR3-1600 CL8,8,8,24-2T (TR3X6G1600C8D) @1.65V

G.Skill 3x2GB DDR3-1600 F3-12800CL8T-6GBRM Blue Ripjaws 8-8-8-21@1.65V
