i have a 1Tb hard drive. A while back I used a UBCD(ultimate boot cd) and somehow I did something to the partition. When I plug it in, it shows two different drives. One that has 34.2gb & one the shows 2.99gb. I found a recovery software to recover the lost data, but how do I get my hard drive back to factory settings showing the correct drives?

Assuming that you have backed up your recovered data, then, on a Windows box, go into Disk Management, and delete both partitions. Then use a utility such as TestDisk to reconstruct the original partition.

The partition I lost is showing as unallocated in disk management. Is there a way to activate it? If not how do I delete it? And which program should I use on the TestDisk website to reconstruct the original partition?

Thanks for the help on this.
