Hello, I've been reading these pages for days trying to find a good system to build and I just wanted to post my draft so I can get a seal of approval and click that buy button. I don't have a computer of my own and am doing all the research at someone elses computer in my free time, so I am rather uneducated in this generation of hardware. I'd be very grateful for any suggestions or ways shave off a few digits from the total cost.

Here is what I've come up with so far:

CPU - i5 750i retail
MOBO - MSI P55 GD65
CASE - Coolermaster HAF 922
PSU - Corsair CMPSU 550VX
GFX - 1x HD 5770 (will add another in feb)
HDD - Samsung 500gb
RAM - 2GB g.skill

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: ASAP, this week

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming, music

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, speakers

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: overclockers UK

PARTS PREFERENCES: i5 750 CPU, 5770 GPU

OVERCLOCKING: I won't be overclocking, however I wish to add an extra 5770 in the near future

MONITOR RESOLUTION: Not really sure, I haven't chosen a monitor yet. I already have one but I will certainly upgrade once I have assembled the actual system.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I have an exact budget of £860 which must include the monitor

I know you guys must get sick of reading to these type of threads all the time, but your advice is very much appreciated

Thank you

I'd get a more powerful PSU if you plan to add another 5770 in crossfire
