Is the heat over hyped on the 3570k? I just got a Corsair H80. What can I expect for a safe overclock? I'm using an Extreme6...

You'll have to experiment and monitor your temps. I'm sure it varies a bit from chip to chip anyways

Agree with bearclaw.

I bought the same chip with a V Pro board and a Phanteks PHTC14PE cooler. Haven't put it together yet (been busy, will do it over the weekend), but my expectations are not super-high for overclocking.

4.4 - 4.5 Ghz seems to be the reasonable range right now, and you should keep in mind that temperature is not the only limitation. Even with safe temperatures, pushing the 4.7 - 4.8 Ghz range, people are running into voltage and stability issues.

I have a Corsair TX750. Is that enough juice to overclock. Let me know how it goes. I'm just learning...

I was able hit 4.5ghz no problem at 1.25v. 72c max on one of the cores. Using a Corsair H100 though.
