XP mouse works intermittently

Hello,
my mouse works intermittently, I unplug, works for a short while, then freezes.
Was thinking about reinstalling driver, but since it does work sometime, this tells me driver okay.
So....maybe I have a faulty UBS mouse.

thanks---nhasian----I bought a new mouse (Logitec) and it solved the problem. Thanks for your reply.
