I am trying to go down in price and up in performance. I am willing to sacrifice some things if its for the greater good.

Thanks in advance.

That is a really nice build. I have just a few comments for you to think about.

The case you have chosen (HAF 922) is great. It has a good layout and excellent cooling. However, the motherboard you have chosen is micro ATX, so it is only going to take up a small portion of your case. Nothing wrong with that, but you might consider an ATX motherboard, which will typically give you a few more slots for expansion and not be so cramped. A good ATX board is Gigabyte P55-UD4P, but this will cost you $20 more than the UD4.

You should also consider adding a CPU cooler. The good news is that with your case (HAF 922), you can easily fit in any of the HSFs with 120mm fans, such as the Hyper 212, or Xigmatek.

If you live near a Microcenter...

If you live near a Microcenter store, you can pick up a i860 for $230.

I know nothing about your monitor or power supply so I will not comment on those items. The rest of your build is fine.

Good luck.

Build looks really good but would go with a regular ATX board as well just in case of further upgrades. Some good stuff htough might use some parts for my next upgrade. Enjoy blackfriday

That is an awesome build for that price ($1050). I know you are going to really enjoy your new computer.

Best of luck with the build, and please report back your experience once you have it all put together.
