Perhaps the 3rd/4th core is defective and causes errors? The blue screen usually means that the core(s) cannot be unlocked. However, you can try to increase the voltage for stability or disable one of the unlocked cores to see if it's just one defective core and you'll have a triple-core... Is there a specific error code for the BSOD?
