USB and wireless problems

YO! OK so i have two coms. (one laptop one desktop) both using different mice, but recently both mice have quit working.

the desktop coms. usb links both the keyboard and the mouse to the computer but for some reson the keyboard works and the mouse doesn't

on the laptop i plug in the device and doesn't even say its plugged in

I've changed the batteries on both and they still wont work

any tips would be nice thanks

oh...right now both are on wired mice and i haven't had any problems so wats up ?

after you changed the batteries did you press the button on the receiver and then on the mouse for them to establish communication?

there is no button on the receiver (on the usb if thats what you mean)

but if you mean the reset/connect button on the bottom of the mouse I held those in for about five sec i even turned one off then back on... still nothing

Generally the "Connect" is for bluetooth operation. Have wireless keyboard/mouse on 4 systems - no problems.

It's possible that the xmitter in the mouse has gone defective.

ya probably but still its weird (and sad) that they went out both went out at the same time
