Hiya ,

Country of Origin : India

I do a lot of gaming and i would love to know the pros and cons of these disks

I'm also looking to replace my iball PSU with a good unit and I found this to be a good deal

Corsair Gaming Series Gold 800W Power Supply (CMPSU-800G)
http://www.theitdepot.com/details-Corsair+Gaming+Series+Gold+800W+Power+Supply+(CMPSU-800G)_C14P9351.html

Can this unit power an i5 based system with a couple of GTX460s' without any problem ??

I'm welcome to any other suggestions but i would love to stay below 6000 INR for the PSU

Cheers guys .

What s the difference between the Green and black versions of the HDD ??

I don't have an i5 based system yet but i'm planning on investing in a new PSU for the soon to be build rig .

Thanks again :)

Does that imply i could see some noticeable performance gain when using WD Caviar black over WD caviar green in gaming ???

I' know your india, but if I were you I'd be more interested in reliability.
The "Green" WD 2 TB drive has a Horrible Dissaisfaction rating at Newegg.

For WD I'd go with the "Black" versions only, Higher quality. Yes it is also faster as far as how noticable - some, but probably not a lot.

My preference for HDD is the Samsung F3, but only goes upto 1 TB.

Added, My response on a simular post earlier today:
For WD I only buy their "Black" models. Looking at the "Green" model it has a very High dissatisfaction rating @ Newegg, Like 33% 1 gg - ouch.

I complete agree with CMSgt. WD Black or Samsung F3. SATA 6.0Gb/s, 7200 RPM,Cache of 64MB is as good as it gets for mechanical HDD.

" But still highly recommended " --- Something wrong with SATA II ? ( do elaborate , i dunno tis kind of stuff )

It would be kinda difficult to find Samsung F3 in my hometown , so i did not list it in my preferences . But if the WD caviar black is on par with the Samsung Spinpoint , I can easily go for it ..

Any thoughts about the PSU ??

Some think that Sata III HDD is faster than SATA II, Not true, Sata III HDD on sata III port only has a performance boost for burst speed which does not affect overall performance that much.

If F3 not available, go for the WD Black. If you can find it still available as a sata II drive and it is cheaper than the Sata III go for it.
