Asus M2N68-LA motherboard installing a HD 4890

I have an Asus M2N68-LA motherboard that came in my HP a6000 Pavilion Desktop. I upgraded my Graphics card to a ATI X1650 Pro a while ago but want more. I was wondering if the HD 4890 will fit the board. I have room in the case, but i am not sure if the card will clear the heat sink and sata ports/cables... Anyone know?

Youll need an inch and 1/2+ between the heatsink and you ram slots

Yea, it only has like .5". Looks like it won't fit, and it might be time to get a new mobo/CPU base... What do you think of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131599 as a platform?

Looks good, just remember that placing your ram first is the way to go, so the ram clips dont interfere with the gfx card
PS Make sure your mobo standoffs/mounts are located in the same spots, not sure how HP does theirs

I thought Micro ATX mobo's were generic in build and mounting holes....

Final reply: I did get a 4890 to fit in this board, i had to get some 270 degree angle for the sata connecters (like 5 bucks) and upgrade the PSU but it works like a beast now !!!!!!

A lil elbow works goes a long ways, and OEMs dont use that, they use ease of build/costs onyl first
