I am looking at this system to run FSX. My P-4 can't handle it. Any suggestions to lower the cost , improve performance or miss-matched components?

CPU: I-5 750 $180

Cooler: Artic freezer 7 Pro Rev2 $37
Memory G. Skill Ripjaws 4GB DDR3 1333 $70
Video: XFX Hd-577A 5770 $180
Case Antec 300 $55 - $20 rebate
PS: Antec Earthwatts 500W $70 - $20 rebate
Monitor: Acer P235 23" 1920x1080 $150

Yes! Since you have an aftermarket heatsink you should OC the i5. This will help improve the performance of FSX.

Did you bought the computer? I have a new computer, almost similar to you, can run FSX (default settings) at almost 87-127fps. I have a Gigabyte P55A-UD3P mobo and a Sapphire HD5750. No OC needed. Just enable the Turbo Boost.
