it's not really worth moving away from a gtx 285 since it can already max out all games and there really isnt any dx11 games for the next lil while... If you must have dx11, sell your gtx 285 for less then $300 so you can garuntee (who would pay more anyways when they can get a 5850 for $300) A sell and depending on your budget get a 5870 or 5970.

if you want to actually increase from the GTX 285, the HD5870 is a good choice.

Waste of time and money if you as me. If you really want to step up to a HD 58xx/59xx card, then I suggest you buy it first, then attempt to sell your 285GTX. If you sell your GTX first, then you might be waiting a while to find a HD 58xx/59/xx.

Except $280 will not buy you a 58xx in Euro land, not even close.

Fair enough, but from the site that the OP linked you can get an XFX 5850 for 290 Euros

and as he already linked the gtx 285 goes for 400 Euros soooooo I'd say he could sell it for around 250 if he can catch a break and put a little more for a 5850.

I agree with Jack. There isn't a point to upgrade to a 5xxx card for DX11. What games are out that your dying to play??? Wait for the supply/price problems to get sorted out, as well as DX11 games to arrive.

The only way I would even consider upgrading to the 5870/5850 is if you have the screens and want to start using Eyefinity. That is something you can use now, and it worth upgrading for.

No current games use DX11, the only real thing you can use right now is Eyefinity.
So unless you want to run your games (assuming they're compatible) on 3 or more monitors there's no point to upgrading.

Yeah, I think (hope) DX11 will be good in the long run, but ringht now there is no reason to rush out and overpay for it in this current mess. Let them get production back up and work out some more bugs, and enjoy your 285 in the meantime.

The first DX 11 game is coming dec 4th.

DX 11 actually has benefits compared to 10, but I agree, we just don't have them yet.

I <3 rally games (and racing games in general), so Dirt 2 is a must play in dx 11 for me
