Switching my primary drive

I installed windows 7 64 bit on an ssd today and was planning on only having that ssd to boot from and store everything on my regular hdd (Western Digital Caviar Black). But everytime i go to install something it wants to install to my SSD. Is there a way to change it so that my mechanical harddrive is the main or primary hard drive?

Go to Computer and open your C:/ SSD. C:/Users/Your Name/downloads and copy that to your secondary drive into a Users file. Drag and Drop.
If you just switch primary drives it will no longer boot to the Windows ssd.

How do you make a Users file? Im probably sounding like a noob XD
