I have an external hard disk that somewhat totally scratched due to a fallen piece of something in it... is it possible to retrieve the data in it?

What? Do you mean something inside the HDD fall apart and scratched the platter?

That I never had before!!

I don't think there is a fix for it.

If it is under warranty, complaint the hell out of it and get a replacement.

Also, please tell me what brand and model it is so I will avoid buying it in the future.

there is no way to tell until you bring it in to someone. It will cost you tho, i was told once around 500 to 1000$ if the drive is still closed. But well if you opened it to find out that its all scratched then your looking to pay even more now because you did not open it in a clean room.
