MAC Laptop Hard drive stop clicking

Hello,
My MAC HD was clicking, so I removed it from my MAC and replaced, then bought a SATA drive adapter, I started restoring some data files and clicking would happened and freeze why backing up, and now nothing happens is there anything I can do? I am going to wait to see if it did not over heat? Or any suggestion, don't want to go to a data recovery company yet.

Sounds pretty fried. There are recovery packages discussed in these forums that you can download; they will attempt sector-by-sector scans of a drive to recover what data they can. But if your drive is physically damaged and freezing up, it may be too late.

1) All the ones I have seen here are Windows apps; do you have access to a Windows machine?

2) Obligatory unasked-for advice: Buy an external drive and do backups.
