Sorry, don't know how to show a screenshot. The desktop icons are being covered by a blank white window with a red X in the upper left corner. It is covering my icons. I would like to know if anyone knew how to get rid of it.
Does that explain it a little better? That's the best I can do. Thanks

Have U used any personalization program recently?
Try uninstalling it.

Or if it happens only to a type of files, it could be a program associacian issue.

if only the my computer, recicle bin, (main icons) have changed then
On the right click desktop>Display properties >Desktop tab, click on Customize Desktop
In Desktop Icons , you can restore the icon by clicking on Restore Default

This may help:

Thank you for responding...I figured it out. It's gone now. When I dragged my mouse over the top right hand corner it gave me an option to delete. Who would have known!!!
