Acer extensa 5235 won't boot

Hello,
i am trying to get a laptop that won't boot into erecovery (using alt+F10 it gets to it and then just says 'please wait a moment' and it sticks at this point. THe laptop is an acer extensa 5235 and i do not have any recovery discs - it wont start in safe mode or anthing...any ideas??

if you tap f8 as its booting do you get the list of options like safe mode etc?

if so try the repair my pc option

if you dont get the list of options then it may be your hard drive is faulty
