If this is a desktop computer, I would simply buy a new NIC (that's the trade term for a PCI Network adapter card). They are very cheap and should be simple to install.
If your computer has a network socket built into the motherboard, you can disable that in Windows Device Manager first.
If you already have a PCI card network adapter, just remove it before installing the new one.
