Which processor is the best?

I use a lot of programs at the same time and switch between them with all the windows open, but I do not game. I use Dreamweaver CS3, and some other programs at the same time.

My choice is between
Acer TravelMate 6493-874G32MN - Core 2 Duo P8700 2.5 GHz - 14.1" or
Acer TravelMate Timeline 8471-944G16n - Core 2 Duo SU9400 - 14"

Thanks!
Rachel

lordszone is right.

Currently the SU9400 runs at about 1.4GHZ while the P8700 nearly runs at twice the clock speed. If you are looking for more power go with the P8700, if you are looking to save energy (IE: On the road using battery power) the SU9400 will fit your choice.

I would go with the P8700 though, as you will be waiting less time to open and use multiple applications.

Rachel,,

It depends what you want from a laptop..

the Su9400 will give far better batterylife... performance is not as good as a P8700 period.

a P8700 laptop is juicier but will run faster,,

both will run dreamweaver cs3, what ever machine you go for ram is important so the more u have the better.

i cant tell if your going to use it on the move ( the su9400 ) will be better, and the p8700 would be better situated plugged in somewhere and light battery use ( about 2 hours compared to about 7-9 for the other )
