I WANT TO BOOT FROM THE USB PORT ON MY INSPIRION 600M DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW ? AND CAN I STILL LEAVE THE INTERNAL HARD DRIVE CONNECTED ? COULDN'T FIND THE OPTION TO BOOT FROM USB PORT IN THE SETUP WINDOW

Why are you trying to boot to USB? To run Windows setup, run Linux? The BIOS should have a boot selection area where you may need to select boot devices, as well as the boot order. If you are trying to boot to an external drive, you may need to select the hard-drive priority to have it try the USB drive first over the internal drive.
