Hello, I run a Alienware Aurora with i7 920 quad, 6gb RAM, Vertex 2 50gb SSD, 2 1TB in Raid 0, ATI Raedon 5700series. I am wanting to upgrade my RAM in the upcomming months. I am at 6gb Tri-Channel. I am looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168.... Any opinions?

Hey :)
What task do you do that needs more than 6GB RAM ?

^+1, 6GB is plenty for common tasks. If you're planning to video edit though, or do tasks of the sort, then I suppose 12GB would make some sense.

Even for that,6GB is more than enough IMO,unless there are lots of(huge numbers actually) video editings/renderings tasks being done at a same time.

Well I guess I dont need 12gb of RAM. I could settle with 9gb. It honestly bugs me that I have empty slots. I do play some WoW but thats about it.

Then you don't even need a core i7 rig made by alienware to do play it xD
