Dual gtx 680 sli

hello guys, i am planning to get 2 gtx 680 sli with cooler master silent pro gold 1200w so that i can sli.

but i dont know will i be able to sli with this psu and will i need to buy a 1500w one.

are you sure because gtx 680 eats 500w and this is total to 1150w will computer even survive on 50w.

i am new in this field.

The 680 uses nowhere near 500 W. Its TDP is only 195 W maximum, but it usually runs around 170W at load.

I bought a 900 watt power supply because the EVGA 680 says minimum of 550 watts required. I thought that meant 550 watts just for the card itself. I am now just realizing it meant 550 watts for the whole system. I have been thinking of returning my 900 watt for a 650 watt.
