Windows 7 automatically installs DirectX 11.
ie It is already installed in your system. To check the version in your system,
run the built-in DirectX diagnostic :

click the Start button (the bottom-left blue one) then type:
dxdiag.exe
then press <enter>

DirectX version is shown on the system tab near the bottom.

Direct X is part of the Windows operating system.

Hit start and type in "dxdiag" in the "search programs and files" spot and hit return. Then when the wondow opens, hit the "save all information: button which will create a text file. open the txt file in Notepad and you will see something like:

some games may be missing certain .dll files to work (I know Arkham Asylum for me needed one)
you can download these by googling them and put them into your C:\Windows\System folder
