I was looking if you get a combo deal you can get a ASUS P7P55D LE not the ASUS P7P55 LX for the same price basically

The one I would pick is this one Combo 1
but if you really want the cheapest one without a lot of reviews this one combo 2

And if you can afford get the antec 900 case, they are just $59 after rebates, and have more fans (one of them being a 20cm fan on the top)

Huh the combo 2 ram has a lower latency, runs at a lower voltage (more overclocking room) it is superior in every way to the combo 1 ram.
Edit: oh well I'm going to bed now good night/morning/afternoon.

The LE since thats what comes with the combo, and the only differences in specs is that one of the oc ram speeds is 2200 on the lx and 2000 on the le, and le has esata.

Edit: just noticed I forgot to change the budget in the op to 750, fixed.
Edit 2: accidentally used 200 instead of 2000, fixed but this is a dead thread anyway.

hm, what abou this PSU, it's a antec 750w PSU, is a kind of modular(just have 4 cables modular I guess) and it's just 5 dollars more expensive than the corsair 650w which is what you have there right now which is really good too.

Thanks. I can't wait! My current build is awful, an amd athlon 64 3200+ 512megs of ddr ram and integrated radeon xpress 200 graphics. Does anyone have suggestions for games I should play? I'm almost certain I'll get the orange box and trade in the ps3 version I have. Any suggestions for benchmarking applications?

GTA4? really? Its better for ps3 since it's very unoptimized and consolized. Dirt 2 is just going to be a Direct x 11 showoff although that might be ok. The GPU might come with a dirt 2 voucher, the gpu I chose before came with it but it sold out so I went with the saphire brand. Apparently a few of them come with it but don't list it on newegg. I agree on Crysis though, I might hook it up to the 56" 1080p tv to play crysis. *drools* I really prefer RPGs and fpss though. I'm playing kotor now with the bos:sr, bastilla on koriban, and enhanced merchants mods.

Yes but It's better to play on the console since the pc version is very unoptimized. You should be able to have a great experience with gta4 on pc but It requires a lot of power and the joypad is better for driving.

I guess. I could just plug in my dualshock 3 for driving if I wanted. I'm still not a big fan of the gta series. *hopes bioware makes kotor 3* I can run kotor on high without vsync anti-aliasing and antistropic filtering. It still looks really good. I can't wait to see how good it looks on my new rig since I should be able to max the aa and af. I might want to see if there are high res texture packs available too.

Yes it does, I can use it on my pc. It works natively with linux and with windows it's just like 1 or 2 exe's.

edit: I just found an update that added rumble support! http://www.ps3-hacks.com/2009/01/13/dualshock-3-device-drivers-for-windows/

edit 2: I've got to get back to kotor now but I'll read the posts on this thread in a few hours.

OK I've got everything and it was working ok but I kept getting errors with linux live cd's and the windows install. Now the memok led turned on and it doesn't seem to post unless I take the memory out, then it will repeat a pattern of 1 long beep then 2 short beeps over and over again. I have tried using the memok and trying one stick of ram at a time, neither of those help. Should I RMA the motherboard? I think I pushed the ram in enough, the slot closes by itself when it's in all the way.

Edit: I've also tried clearing the cmos by using the jumpers and by leaving the battery out all night with the system not plugged in.

Edit 2: There's this thread.

Edit 3: If it's the motherboards problem should I RMA it and get:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128412
to replace it?

Edit 4: I'm going to start a new thread about this.
