I5 750 or core 2 quad q8300???

For a new system build...IYHO what's the better CPU? Does the price advantage for the Q8300 make up for the slower speed and lack of future upgrade options? This system is not for gaming so it's not like any price saving are going towards a graphics card. Im looking for system longevity and speed primarily.

Here is the comparison between a Q8400 and i5 750 (no Q8300). As you see, the i5 wins across the board and IMHO is worth the extra cash. You get DDR3 memory, faster CPU and are not buying an E.O.L. system.
