I recently bought an Intel BOXDP55KG LGA 1156 motherboard for my first build.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I also bought G.SKILL Trident 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) (Model: F3-16000CL9D-4GBTD).

I realized the ram I bought may be more difficult for me to use than a more suitable pair, would this be easy to fix in bios or should I purchase a different set?

I'm using an i5 -750.

Thanks in advance.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Ur RAM should work without problems in the mobo, but I think that for the 2000MHz u need use the XMP profile or set the specifications of ur RAM manually in the BIOS, but like I say should work at 1600 or 1333

Thanks for your response,
G.skill tech actually told me to go with G.SKILL ECO Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) (Model: F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO)

I have put together my system but I am getting status code error 21 (3 beeps) (MEC Memory Detection: MRC entry point)

I noticed a few other people have had this problem with this board when both DIMM 0 slots are populated. I have been able to boot putting both sticks in Channel B.
I have not seen a solution to the problem, any suggestions?

Thanks again,
Xeno

Sorry for the double post but I figured out that my Hyper 212+ was shorting the board...problem solved...just have to set the timings in bios now!

Thanks for the help,
