I've been using VirtualDrive for years and it works great with the original
Sims. So I was pretty excited to see that Sims 2 is on the compatibility
list for the latest version, VirtualDrive 9. I downloaded the trial version
and low and behold it doesn't work. At least not with the DVD image I made
with the software.

Has anyone been able to get this to work?

Thanks,
Richard

No... nor have I been able to get Daemon or Alcohol 120% to work either...
Doesn't really matter cos it was only so my kids could play it on the
computer in the next room. I figured out that once it's loaded up I can pull
it out of the drive and load it up on the other one and we can both be
playing happily.... :)

Just an FYI... I have been successful in getting Alcohol 120% to work. The
game plays fine without the DVD in the drive with that product. But I
prefer VirtualDrive and it's also cheaper than Alcohol 120% so when the
trial runs out I'll probably just go back to using the DVD (unless Farstone
can prove to me that VirtualDrive does indeed work).

So I got confirmation from FarStone that the DVD version of The Sims 2 is
indeed incompatible with VirtualDrive 9.0. They said they are working on it
though and would let me know when this is fixed. I'll make a new post when
I hear back.
