Dell AC Adapter Green light goes out

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop. When I plug in the AC Adapter the green light on it goes out and the laptop wont boot. I removed the battery and tried again but same thing it won't boot.

I have tried another AC Adapter from a working 1501 Laptop and it is doing the same thing. Light goes out and laptop wont boot.

Any Ideas what the problem is?
