I am being told that none of the i7 motherboards/processors will support a floppy drive and would like to know if this is truly valid. I plan on using the Asus P6TD deluxe motherboard with an Intel Core i7 920 processor. Seems incredible that this combo won't support a floppy drive. Thanks for your assistance!

NOFUN
Thanks for the info. The floppy isn't essential so I will stick with what I have. It just "surprised" me that
the P6TD wouldn't allow for a floppy. Living and learning ----- it's a blast! :)
THANKS again!

What's more amazing is that floppies have stuck around as long as they have. The 1.44 MB floppy was introduced in 1987! I remember my first computer was a Mac LC II in 1992: 16 Mhz processor, 75 MB hard disk, 2 MB of RAM, and the only Removable Drive was a floppy disk!

Well even today on systems that would cook the LC II for breakfast, we still see floppy compatibility, simply amazing. And on my new i5 build, I too am including a floppy drive, because you just never know when you might need it.
