Monitor showing reddish tint

my monitor is showing a high red-saturation. green is black. yellow is orange. when i switch off my monitor, the monitor shows original colours for appr. 1 min. then it turns to Reddish again. what is the problem? is the green picture tube gone? i have checked all the connection if there were any loose points..there were none. so....in a bit of dilemma...

I had a monitor a while ago that did something similar except the color of the tint would vary. Wacking it on the side was the only thing that could get it to behave.

It may need to be calibrated. Try asking the manufacturer about the problem. Even if it's out of warranty they may be able to help by pointing out a way to calibrate it.

Might as well check the quick 10 dollar option of getting a new RGB or DVI cable if it doesn't work you have a great new rgb or dvi cable and an extra one just lying around for the occasional troubleshooting.

What is the model # of your monitor? I have the ability with my westinghouse 22w2 to change the "color temp" of each red blue and green. It could be that the red has been manually set to be much higher than blue and green to make everything have the extra redish tint.
