Can not play or use the cd/dve player

I started to install norton 360, after loading and unistalling the older version after restart I have no cd/dvd function

Try to go to Windows update and update with "update drivers" option enabled to start with.

Is it even seen in the system? Check the BIOS during boot up, is it listed there? Seen in My Computer? Any messages when you try to put a disk in?
