i have an Acer Aspire (AM5201) everything stock. the graphics is only a 3450 256 MB so i decided to get a 4870 1 GB. I don't know if my PC has all the neccesary connectors, a "X16" graphics slot or if its a PCI based PC. Also I could use some help in choosing the right brand since there are abount 20-30 of them. Last, I don't know what power supply to get (want at least 650-watt in case I go crossfire in the future).

You can run any PCI Express graphics card including a 4870. You only have 1 PCIE slot though so you can not Crossfire on that motherboard. http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/product/33383/review/aspire_am5201ef8400a_mt_phenom_x3_triple_core_8400_21ghz15mbl21000mhz4gb500gbgignicvhp.html#specs

As far as power supplys go get a Corsair. This should be fine for any single GPU setup http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004

If you think you may get a new motherboard and run Crossfire in the future you may want to go with the 750TX or even the 850TX as it is on sale right now for the same price as the 750TX...
