Asus 24B1st a 1.04 DVD-writer

hi,
Do you guys know why asus 24b1st a 1.04 shows only 16x max recording speed? as per Nero info tool.
I tried nero 9 and nero 10 essentials. And I tried burning at maximum speeds and it only shows maximum 16x speed supported.
Everywhere it says it supports 24x.



btw., OS I use is windows 7. Motherboard is PK5-SE.

24x on single layer DVD media only

yes, I am using single layer dvd media, They are DVD-R.
Again, when I use nero, wheather it's nero 9 or 10 it shows that the burner only supports highest recording speed of 16x to single layer DVD (DVD-R, DVD+R) and not 24x.

Please help.

What is the speed rating of the media you are using?Are you using 24x media!You need 24x media to attain the 24x burning spped!

Your DVD-R media packaging should quote the highest speed supported!Personally i've never seen any 24x DVD media!
