Can I reuse this PSU for a new build?

Wasn't sure weather to put this in the 'New Build' or PSU forum so sorry if I chose wrong :)

It's upgrade time but I'd to know if I need to budget for a new PSU. Planned new components will be similar to the cheapest gamer build from the recommended builds thread:

* CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor Model HDZ955FBGIBOX - Retail
* MOBO: ASUS M4A79T Deluxe AM3 DDR3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
* RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH - Retail
* GPU: XFX HD-585A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card w/ATI Eyefinity - Retail

Will my 580W Hiper Type-R Modular PSU cope with the new kit?

Thanks in advance.

That is an older PSU that does not have as much amperage on the 12V rails as you would want in a newer system. I wouldnt risk my new components with that old PSU.

I would recommend upgrading to a newer 80Plus model PSU in the 550W/650W(Single) or 750W (Crossfire) ranges. Look at either Corsair, Antec (exclude BP models), Seasonic, PC Power&Cooling or OCZ models.

For HD 5850 in single GPU configuration i would think the usual suspects would be Eartwatts 650, Corsair VX 550 yada yada hehe
