No sound coming from dell inspiron 4150

If you are running Windows XP, go to Start > run > Type services.msc and see if Windows Audio service is started. You need to start it and restart the computer.
See if you can see a Speaker icon on the right hand corner of the taskbar. If none of the above works please reinstall the concerned audio drivers. you can get them on the Dell Website
