Upgrade time! GTX 260 216 or 5850 ooor 5770 ooooooor 4890

Hi, I am upgrading from a single 4850 512. should I buy a gtx 260 c216 for 170, a 4890 for 200, or a 5770 for 170. My main reason for upgrading is because borderlands runs like a sloth on weed on my 4850 (not really, but I need to turn shadows off and the framerate dips when any npcs or enemies are onscreen) and apparantly it runs MUCH better on nvidia cards. I mainly only play that and games like L4D2, Modern warfare 2, team fortress 2, and far cry 2 (that's alotta 2's!) and the only games I can't crank up are tf2 (dips when in heavy action, I hate dips of any kind) farcry 2 and borderlands. oh and also fallout 3.

My specs:
4850 512mb
Phenom 2 920 @ 3.4 ghz
4gb ram
vista 64
1680x1050 22" monitor.

Best performance for the price gtx 260 unless you pick one of the 4890 cards on newegg with MIR at $179. Less performance but newest tech (DX11) 5770

Radeon 5850 was best price/performance ratio when it was $260...now at $310 i wouldn't get it...i'd hold off until availibility is fixed and the 5850 goes back to $260...or less. I have it, and it's amazing...crysis maxed out at 1920x1200

The 260 isn't enough of an upgrade...I would say the 4890 isn't either and the 5770 is a nice card but you'd notice nothing much in terms of fps.

5850 or bust tbh.

I agree with jennyh, a 260 might perform better just in borderlands it's one of those bias games but in terms of fps increase i wouldn't count on too much out of it in general.
