First back up image. Where to save ?

Hi all.

just attempting my first back up image on my new build.

I only have one HD with Win 7 prof on a 200gb partition and 750ish remaining on the hd.

Should I do it on the 200gb partition with win 7 on or the storage partition with 750 or create a new partition of ?? gb.

if some one could point me into the right direction that would be great.

Save it away from the system partition. In case of the system crash, it will stay safe.

The best would be on another HDD or DVD or USB stick.

BTW, what is the size of the back up?

It says it may be up to 27gb. So until pay day sadly it will have to be on the same hard disk I have shrunk my 731gb to 700gb and made a 30 gb partition. I am going to order a external hd when I get paid. (hopefully) thanks for replying

That's what I would do too. I like Western Digital and Seagate, just my preference.

I've just built a new system last night. t's my first build. I love new egg but I live in the UK so sadly I can't shop there although I do my research on new egg. Cheers for the info

OK, so use the drive info to find it in other stores or on amazon.com
