get a 5850 or better graphics card in it for a start if your paying that much and more ram.

Ps. I wouildn't call a prebuilt buy a company (even if you're chosing the parts) a custom build, do it yourself and it will no doubt be both better and cheaper.

normally how much cheaper and better will it be compared to me building it on my own versus having someone who builds it for you??

what does GPU stand for anyways

Well at the shop I run if you were to build a machine yourself you would save around £150.

GPU is the processor on a VGA card.

my current computer has Radeon 4550 512 MB graphic card
does it make a whole lot of difference watching a movie or youtube when i get my new computer with 5770 1 GB? or does it matter only when playing video games??
