I have a Asus P7P55-LX if you look at the following picture
If reading the slots from bottom to top away from the CPU they are labeled as such
A2 A1 B2 B1
In the motherboard manual is says for dual channel dimms to insert into paired slots so A2 & A1 or B2 & B1.
Anyway my problem is when following asus's instructions the ram in those slots don't work in dual channel mode, however if I match them up to the colours on the board they work fine in Dual channel mode.
What would be the best positions for these ram stick black or blue slots? I would of thought black as their the closest to the CPU but by asus's direction they shouldnt even work in dual channel mode in these slots.
Where should I put these sticks, atm their in the blue slots does it really matter these days? Can someone also please explain to me why asus's direction would be wrong.
Wierd.
