Hi there. I just bought a AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.4GHz.

When I put it into my ASRock NF7G-Glan motherboard the mobo recognized the cpu model and make but it was clocked at 800Mhz instead of 3.4Ghz.
I tried updating the bios and tweaking with the settings, however when I try to manually change the clock speeds the pc does not start up. I have alos tried turning off Cool'n'Quiet and changing the power settings in windows 7. I have checked the clock speed in the bios and in cpu-z. It is not a glitch and I am getting worse performance than my AMD athlon 64x2 6000+

My Pc is:
ASRock NF7G-GLAN
AMD Phenom II x4 965
ATi HD4850
4GB 800Mhz OCZ ram(2x2GB)
Windows 7 64-Bit

I would be grateful for any tips or advice you guys have for me other than buying a new motherboard.
Thanks.

Well guys turns out the reason for this is that the motherboard onyl supports cpus up to 95w.
I went out and had to buy a new motherboard that could support 125w but i got one that could do 140w just as a precaution.
Thanks for your help anyway guys.
