Hard drive and reinstall issues

ok so i had an intense virus and it completely destroyed my hard drive
i now have a new hard drive and am trying to reinstall windows
but its not picking up the hard drive when you tell it where to install
the computer is a gateway nv59c26u
and the hard drive is a samsung hm500ji
i have no idea whats going wrong
and im trying to install windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
any help is highly highly appreciated

did ur hard drive detected in bios??
If not check the sata/power cables are plugged correctly

how do you check if its detected in bios?
