Dell Inspiron 530 Upgrades

Last response: in CPUs

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Upgrade the GPU BUT NOT FOR A 5xxx series. Get a 47xx series or 48xx series, and make you sure that your current PSU support the upgrade of the GPU.

Thanks Guys for the invite and the replies.I installed the Lite On Ihes208 with power dvd 9.Both the Audio & Video shutters then freezes. When I check Cyberlink Advisor it indicates all systems are go until I click Advanced Playback then it says that my processor needs to be upgraded to @ least a 3.2 CPU(my Inspiron 530 is a stock 2.0 core2).I do have a uninstalled Pentium 4-3.4 processor(Lite On recommends at least a 3.2 processor) but I understand they get hot. Also,I'm wondering if this is the right CPU for my 530 Inspiron and would my stock fan be enough.I'm very new at this,so all help is very appreciated. Thanks again in advance for all help.

If Dell says that the processor is supported, belived. Now, usually the Intel pentium D and Pentium 4 run hot, just make you sure that the fan of your processor is running at a good speed.
