So I'm shopping for a cable to run from my hd 5850 to a 24" samsung monitor (1920*1200) And I'm wondering how come DVI supports higher resolutions than hdmi? I was on monoprice.com and even their best hdmi cables says it only supports up to 1080p, whereas the dvi description says it supports up to 2560*1600. However the DVI has a max clock frequency of 165*2 mhz and 7.4 gbs of data while the hdmi has a max clock frequency of 340mhz and 10.2 Gbs. So which one would perform better? I know there isn't much of a difference but I need to know which ones better.

Thanks guys
