I've just built an i3 with Asus mobo, new 1T drive and 4 gigs with a fresh install of XP. The XP startup sound crackles after a cold start, takes a long time, then after a successful launch, moving a window while audio plays causes a huge spike in core 1 and the audio crackles. Never had this problem in ~10 previous Pentium builds. Any help appreciated. Thx.
