Help with new router ...poor performance, slow...

I just bought a D-LInk EBR2310, It's the really cheap on - wired, and it sstarted out ok but sometimes i'd find that it made things REALLY slow, it would take some we pages a really long time to load etc.

Is there a reason this or is it just a cheap POS that the store shouldn't even have on their shelf????

I bought it 2 weeks ago and now i can't return it so i'll pretty much be hoooped for that $40.

D-Link products are pretty good. If it's quick on wired and slow on wireless, most likely reception or interference issues.

Try changing channels -- the difference frequencies work better or worse depending on environment. If you detect neighbouring wifi, try to choose a channel 5 stops from the strongest neighbour.

Try raising the router above furniture level. Relocate cordless phone base or video sender.
