Let's say I have a minimized window. I click on it to bring it up. It comes up, but when I move my cursor over it, it minimizes again.

I don't know about any software or drivers for the mouse. It's a Logitech M305 wireless mouse. This is a relatively new computer and the problem didn't happen on my old computer with the same mouse.

Sounds like you have a hyperactive aero peek. Although I don't know what is causing it and how to fix it. Need some time to look for a solution.

Yes, it does seem hyperactive! It keeps minimizing and I have to choose the full screen option for it to stay open.

Try highlighting a windows and then press "Windows button + arrow up" this should make the maximized window "stick".

When I try this, the pop up screen shows, however, as soon as I release the keys, the screen goes away so I can't select anything.

This is strictly a keyboard shortcut, you don't use the mouse at all with it. You hold down the Alt key, then press Tab as many times as you need to get to the correct window, then let go of the Alt key.

I don't think I have aero peek. When I search programs and files, there is no match.

I don't use the mouse, only the Alt key and Tab.

Aero peak is a window feature.

Right click Computer>properties>advanced system settings
