Asus ez flash freeze

So I was updating my bios due to a large number of problems seeming to stem from my motherboard

got about 10% of the way into checking the integrity of the rom file and it seems to be frozen.

no progress in 15 minutes.

what should i do? powering down right now seems like a really bad idea.

well it started bugging out and making progress, going up and down the progress bar

i started getting freaked out that it might actually start copying the rom in this fubar'd state and rebooted
