Hi all:
I've just put together my system:
ASUS P7P55D pro
Intex i5 750
4GB OCZ 1333 RAM
OCZ Vertex 64GB SSD (C: driver)
Western 1TB Cavia Black
ATI 4670 1GB
Anyhow - when I tried to install XP (Sp2), the load would stop half way (at the re-boot) and say there were "no drives found". Tried various copies and they all did the same thing. I installed Win 7 (build 7600) no problem and everything runs great.
Any ideas about the XP problem? I set the CD (an LG) to 'IDE compatabillty' in the BIOS, but that didn't help. All the drives are SATA - could that be it? Is it just a driver problem (XP hasn't got the right SATA drivers on the install disk)?
I'm asking because I have a friend who is building a similar system and he doesn't want to upgrade to Win 7 yet.
