Sony Vaio PCG-F808K exchange of DVD ROM drive

Hi,

I am encountering compatibility problems with my PCG-F808K inbuild DVD
ROM drive (Hitachi GD-S200) upon using self burned DVD +R recordables
(-R don't work at all). I wonder whether I might be able to exchange
that drive for a newer one, preferably with burning capabilities and
if so, what make I would have to use.
